The cash register worked for one day, then began to malfunction. The cash register began to constantly beep and chirp and the lights flickered. When a button was pressed, it would start to talk, but then become garbled and start the beeping and flickering.

The batteries were brand new and I tried using the reset button, but it didn't make a difference. It is now packaged back up to be returned. I've purchased many toys by this brand before and have not been disappointed, but I guess I'll try to find a different brand cash register.

She uses it quite a bit already. I also like that because of all of the features math games, calculator function, and working register she will be able to use it for years to come. Last week; however, she got the dreaded CB OPEN error message. I thought it was broken. Then it finally occurred to me that CB OPEN may mean Coin Bank I for some reason thought it was saying the register was open I pushed down on the yellow slot and heard a click.

However, it recently stopped working and simply said 'DRAWER OPEN' no matter what we tried to do. After trying to reset the register didn't work I researched the manufacturer's warranty and learned it was only days. Being fairly handy I decided to tear it apart and try to fix it. What I found was a small contact switch that was broken on the back of the cash drawer.

This switch makes contact and closes to make a connection when the drawer is closed. I see two serious design flaws here. This is inexcusable and a severe design flaw.

Fortunately before attempting too much I went on Amazon and read a few other reviews and found one that stated to simply make sure the yellow coin bank was properly closed.

Although it appeared to be I simply pushed down a bit on the top of the coin bank and the register worked perfectly.

I suggest trying that first. My daughters are now happily playing and enjoying the many great features this register offers. I am thankful that others take the time to write helpful reviews.
